Did you know that ONLY 25% of the Taos women we serve (homeless and near homeless) have reliably-working vehicles?
Thanks to a generous sponsorship, HEART of Taos has just secured this 7-seat 2005 GMC Yukon Denali to provide emergency transportation and general transportation support for women facing homelessness, their children and their pets.
HEART Staff member Mary Miller (in photo) will be providing the driving service.
This interim transportation support service will help women manage the overwhelming practical demands of getting back on their feet.
What about transportation needed for the long-term?
HEART of Taos provides limited emergency car repair and actively seeks to secure working used vehicles.
GOT WHEELS?
PLEASE help us spread the word — used car donations needed!
We have several women — some with children — without cars or with cars beyond repair AND… their ability to maintain new-found work is in jeopardy due to lack of transportation.
If you have a working vehicle you would like to donate to a family in need, please contact us! 575-776-4245 — Thank you!
