A Co-Living Opportunity

We have created beautiful commemorative donation options:

  • Beautiful commemorative wooden benches placed throughout the 5 beautiful acres with donor plaques to memorialize your generosity. ($2,500 – $7,500)
  • HEART House Room/Wing Naming Rights. Each room and wing in HEART House will be named. (For example, the “Martinez Room”) ($3,000 – $10,000)
  • A beautiful brick labyrinth in the shape of a heart will be constructed with pavers named with all our generous donors. ($500+)
  • Funding goal for the first year of HEART House 78.6% 78.6%

Your tax-deductible donation today will bring our community closer to the dream of housing and support for ALL women and children in Taos County who face the uncertainty, fear, disillusionment, struggle, and the instability of homelessness.

HEART of Taos is completing renovations and preparing to open HEART House, a shared transitional living residence in Taos County.

Memorial Bench

How Would You Like to be Remembered?

Benches will be placed throughout the HEART House grounds (5 acres) with a Recognition Plaque with your name (Family, Foundation or Business) or “In Memory of” Plaque.

OPTIONS:

FOUR (4) Beautiful Wooden Commemorative Benches Remaining

  • One Bench, Three Donors, THREE Names on Bench ($2,500 donation each)
  • One Bench, One Donor, ONE Name on Bench – optional “In Loving Memory of” plaque and/or custom “appropriate” saying or phrase with name ($7,500 donation)

Actual benches will be wooden and similar in style

Each room/wing will be named after you or a name of your choosing with a Commemorative Plaque

Example: The Kathy Linton Room or The Martinez Room

  • $10,000 – The East Wing (House Mama’s rooms, counseling room, ADA bathroom and library

All donors contributing $100 or more to HEART House:

  • YOUR NAME will be placed on our “Memorial Contributors Wall” on the HEART of Taos website.

All donors contributing $500 or more to HEART House:

  • YOUR NAME will be placed on our “Memorial Contributors Wall” on the HEART of Taos website, PLUS
  • YOUR NAME will be placed on a carved paver/brick in a Labyrinth or Walkway that will be constructed on the HEART House grounds.

Who can apply to live at HEART House:

Single Taos County women 18+* (with or without young children) who are interested in participating in a rent-free**, supportive, shared living, semi-rural environment.

* Women ages 18-24 will first be referred to DreamTree. If no transitional housing is available, they can apply to HEART House.
**Rent is free for residents with income less than $1,200 per month (gross, before taxes), evaluated monthly. For residents earning $1,200 or more per month, rent is 5% of gross income.

NOTE: Residents are able to live at HEART House for up to 6 months. Extensions can be granted. HEART House will eventually be able to provide living quarters for companion animals.
